An Arabic BI dashboard has to mirror the whole layout right to left, not just print Arabic labels, and Power BI Desktop does not support right-to-left languages. Klayara Analytics ships English and Arabic with a full RTL interface, runs in the cloud or on your own servers, and Dictode builds your first dashboards typically in 2–4 weeks.

Why right-to-left dashboards are harder than they look
Arabic on a dashboard is not a font problem. A reader in Riyadh scans from the top right, so the whole page has to flip: the title block starts on the right, the first column of a table sits against the right edge, filter panels change sides, and a time axis should end where the eye finishes. Mixed strings add a second trap: an Arabic customer name beside an English SKU is bidirectional text, and a renderer that half understands it shuffles the pieces.
The best-known gap is in Power BI. Microsoft's own language page says Power BI Desktop ships in the same languages as the Power BI service except Hebrew and Arabic, that Desktop does not support right-to-left languages, and that the layout of visuals inside a report does not change for a right-to-left language (checked 2026-09-23). The browser service does offer an Arabic interface, yet a report authored left to right stays left to right. Gulf developers embedding Arabic reports have raised it on the Microsoft Fabric community forum, where the suggested workarounds are Translations Builder and hand-mirrored visuals.
So many Gulf teams keep two copies of every report, one per language, laid out by hand, and the pair drifts apart the first time someone edits a measure in only one of them.
What Klayara Analytics ships today
Klayara Analytics is the business intelligence platform from Dictode. Its interface runs in English and Arabic with a genuine right-to-left layout chosen per user, and the language follows into embedded dashboards: a branch manager in Arabic and a CFO in English open the same link, each in their own direction.
Underneath sit 50+ data sources, among them PostgreSQL, MySQL, MariaDB, Microsoft SQL Server, CockroachDB, Amazon Redshift, ClickHouse, Google Sheets, and a REST connector for any system with a web API, plus CSV and Excel upload. Each table is either queried live, so nothing is copied, or imported for speed, and both kinds can share one chart. Authors pick from 100+ chart types, choropleth and bubble maps among them, and write calculations with 138 formula functions, including year-to-date on a fiscal calendar, running totals and share of the grand total.
Security is set once and enforced on every path. Row rules limit a person to their branch, region or client; column rules hide a field or mask it down to its last four characters; and the same rules govern dashboards, downloads, scheduled PDFs, embedded views and the built-in AI assistant. That assistant turns a plain-language question into a real chart through the AI provider you choose, even a private model on your own hardware.
Where Klayara stops today
Klayara now sells on published per-user plans, but has no customers we can name yet, and so no reference site to phone. In place of one we offer a scoped pilot on your own data and a benchmark kit that reproduces the published performance figures on your hardware.
Sign-in covers passwords, one-time codes, Sign in with Google and two-factor authentication, but corporate single sign-on through SAML, OIDC, LDAP or Active Directory is not available yet, and nor is automatic provisioning from a directory. There is no SOC 2 or ISO 27001 certificate and no independent penetration test report. Snowflake, BigQuery, Databricks, Oracle and business apps such as Salesforce or HubSpot are not native connectors; they come in through the REST connector, a scheduled file, or a feed built for you.
Maps stop at country level, so shading by emirate, by Saudi region or by postcode is not possible today. Klayara runs in the browser, phones included, with no native iPhone or Android app and no offline viewing, and it offers no Python or R for advanced statistics. If one of these is a day-one requirement, a tool from the comparison below may serve you better.
Self-hosted BI for data-residency buyers in the UAE and Saudi Arabia
Banks, hospitals and government suppliers often want dashboards without their data leaving their own servers or the country. Klayara is one product whether it runs in its own cloud, in your private cloud account, in your data centre, on a virtual machine or container, or on a network with no internet at all. There is no licence server or usage reporting, and with AI switched off it makes no outside connection.
Two facts matter for residency. A live connection queries your database where it sits and stores nothing; only tables you choose to import are kept, and on a self-hosted install that storage is on your machines too. Each workspace has its own separate databases, and an activity log records configuration changes and sign-ins, though not reads.
Klayara does not make a deployment compliant on its own. Whether a setup satisfies Saudi Arabia's Personal Data Protection Law, a sector regulator's hosting rules or a UAE free-zone data regime is a decision for your legal and security teams. Self-hosting sits on the Enterprise tier, and each install is set up together with Klayara's engineers rather than from a one-click installer, so allow for that in the plan.
Scheduled reports and alerts to WhatsApp, email, Slack and Telegram
Gulf managers live in WhatsApp, not in a BI portal. Klayara sends a dashboard as a PDF on a schedule, rendered separately for each recipient so every copy already obeys that person's row and column rules, and delivers it by email, Slack, Telegram, WhatsApp Business or webhook. Schedules follow the recipient's time zone, so the Riyadh team receives its 7 am pack at 7 am Riyadh time.
Alerts fire three ways: on a schedule, when a number crosses a threshold, or when a new matching record appears, such as any order above AED 50,000. A threshold alert fires once per crossing, then waits out a cooldown, and a run log shows whether each channel delivered. WhatsApp delivery runs through your own WhatsApp Business connection, and a test message can be sent before anyone relies on it.
How Dictode builds Arabic dashboards on your data
Dictode builds the whole thing for you if you have no analyst: we connect your ERP, POS, CRM or spreadsheets, model the tables, write the measures, lay out the Arabic and English views and set up the delivery schedule. A first release of three to five dashboards typically takes 2–4 weeks from the opening working session to handover.
The first week goes on questions, not charts: which ten numbers the owner checks each morning, which branch may see what, which fiscal calendar finance closes on, and whether reports must follow Hijri months. Klayara does not list Hijri months among its built-in date groupings, so where they matter Dictode builds a Hijri calendar table for the reports to group by. Then come build and review on your real data, permission testing, training and the first scheduled sends.
If a source is something Klayara does not reach natively, such as Snowflake, an Oracle ERP or a cloud accounting app, Dictode builds the feed through the REST connector or a scheduled extract inside the same project. Every dashboard exports to PDF, Excel, CSV and JSON if you ever move on.
Power BI, Tableau, Metabase and Looker Studio compared honestly
Power BI is the default for good reasons: it sits beside Excel and Microsoft 365, DAX is a powerful modelling language, and partners in Dubai and Riyadh are plentiful. Its Arabic weakness is authoring, since Desktop does not support right-to-left languages and report layouts do not mirror. For on-premises reporting Microsoft offers Power BI Report Server, licensed through Fabric F64 or larger reserved capacity or through SQL Server core licences (checked 2026-09-23).
Tableau is stronger at free-form visual exploration, and Tableau Server installs on your own machines. Its published interface languages number fifteen and Arabic is not among them, although Tableau is Unicode-enabled and displays Arabic data. Metabase is open source and free to self-host, with Arabic in its interface list, but its documentation says the UI is designed around left-to-right languages, and row and column permissions and SSO belong to the paid tiers (checked 2026-09-23).
Looker Studio, which Google renamed back to Data Studio in April 2026, costs nothing and connects natively to Google Analytics, BigQuery, Google Sheets and MySQL, which makes it hard to beat for marketing reporting. Its interface languages include Hebrew but not Arabic, and it runs only in Google's cloud. Pick Klayara when you need right-to-left Arabic dashboards, row and column rules that hold on every export, and the option to run on your own servers; pick one of the others if you need corporate SSO, a SOC 2 report or a native warehouse connector today.
अनुपालन तैयारी चेकलिस्ट
- List every screen where Arabic readers will open dashboards (desktop, phone, wall screen, embedded portal) and test the right-to-left layout on each one
- Write down which rows each role may see, by branch, region or client, and which columns must be hidden or masked
- Decide where the data must live: a vendor cloud, your own cloud account in the region, your data centre, or an offline network
- Check that each key source has a native connector, and plan a REST or file route for those that do not
- Confirm whether corporate single sign-on or a SOC 2 or ISO 27001 report is a day-one requirement for your security team
- Choose the channels managers actually read (WhatsApp, email, Slack or Telegram) and the local send time for every schedule
- Settle the calendar early: Gregorian fiscal year, Hijri months, or both side by side
अक्सर पूछे जाने वाले प्रश्न
कोई और सवाल है? सेल्स से बात करें
Does Power BI support Arabic dashboards?
Partly. The Power BI service in the browser offers an Arabic interface, but Microsoft states that Power BI Desktop is not available in Arabic, does not support right-to-left languages, and that the layout of visuals inside a report does not change for a right-to-left language (checked 2026-09-23).
What should an Arabic RTL BI tool actually do?
Flip the entire page, not only the text: navigation, filter panels, table column order and chart reading direction should all start from the right, while mixed Arabic and English strings keep their correct order. Each user should switch language without a second copy of the report.
Can Klayara Analytics run on our own servers in Saudi Arabia or the UAE?
Yes. It runs in your private cloud account, your data centre, on a virtual machine or container, or on a network with no internet access, with no licence server and no call-home. Self-hosting is on the Enterprise tier and is set up with Klayara's engineers. Whether it meets your regulator's rules is for your legal team to confirm.
Can dashboard reports be sent to WhatsApp automatically?
Yes. Klayara schedules a dashboard PDF or a data file and delivers it through your WhatsApp Business connection, as well as email, Slack, Telegram or a webhook. Threshold and new-record alerts can use the same channels.
Does Klayara support single sign-on?
Not corporate single sign-on yet. It ships passwords, one-time codes, Sign in with Google and two-factor authentication; SAML, OIDC, LDAP and Active Directory sign-in are not supported today.
How long does Dictode take to build our dashboards?
Typically 2–4 weeks for a first release of three to five dashboards on sources Klayara connects to natively. A custom feed for a system such as Snowflake or an Oracle ERP adds time, scoped in the first working session.
Which companies already use Klayara?
None that we can name yet: Klayara has only recently moved to published per-user plans, and has no reference customer to put you in touch with. Instead of a reference call we offer a scoped pilot on your own data and a benchmark kit you can run on your own hardware.
